- As Dip mentioned in the piece on Western Sahara, the Sahrawi struggle is woefully underdiscussed in the English-speaking world. It'd be worthwhile to take inspiration from efforts like the Bandung Conference and the following Non-Aligned Movement, with an eye towards what that might look like outside of, against, and beyond the state. Specifically, what might it look like for those who exist in the fourth world to build more robust direct connections with the third world? It could be imagined as conferences that facilitate encounter and coordination that cultivate shared campaigns. Regardless, solidarity needs to be material. People can't eat ethics. With the Sahrawi struggle, solidarity seem to be materially receding, so the fourth world needs to step up. That can start by learning about the struggle there through sources like Western Sahara Resource Watch, while taking seriously the need for indigenous sources of information.
